Let's Get Steady - falls prevention sessions
Find out about our regular falls prevention sessions for residents who have had one fall in the past month, are vulnerable to falls due to a long-term condition, or are fearful of falling.
Our free Let's Get Steady falls prevention sessions aim to reduce the risk of falls.
The sessions are run in different venues around the borough (see timetable below).
Advice and guidance
Sessions include advice on:
strength and balance exercises from a physiotherapist
hydration - important information on keeping hydrated and a free 8 to Hydrate cup.
safety within your home environment from an occupational therapist
medication, sensory issues and foot care advice from a Community Matron
the latest alarms and sensors that are available from us
community - information on community services, keeping you connected
We also have a free falls information booklet for those attending the sessions.
For more falls prevention information, including videos on exercises for falls prevention, and how to get up safely after a fall, see the NHS Guildford and Waverley CCG page.
