Raising the woof at the PawPrints Awards
The Council has achieved a Bronze Animal Activity Licensing Award from the RSPCA PawPrints Awards.
Cllr David Goodwin, Lead Councillor for Licensing, Parking, Refuse and Recycling says:
"It's a fantastic result for the Council and really reflects the hard work that goes into ensuring that our standards remain high when it comes to animal welfare. Great credit goes to our officers who spend a great deal of time and are deeply passionate about the welfare of animals in our borough."
The bronze award was achieved because the Council's animal licensing policy met the RSPCA's criteria. The new policy adds to the already stringent regulations for people who carry out animal activities. The Council is one of the only local authorities to have a policy on animal welfare.
The PawPrints Winners Reception will take place on 26 November in London.
