Guildford House & Gallery
Guildford House is a local box of delights set in the heart of Guildford on the High Street. Dating from the 17th century, this Grade 1 listed building is host to a variety of things to brighten your day and get started with your visit.
You can begin with a chat to one of our friendly team in the Tourist Information Centre, at the front of the building, for information on all there is to see and do as well as books on the local countryside, history and culture, not to mention locally made souvenirs and a range of quintessentially British gifts.
Continue through and upstairs to see the current exhibition, these vary from local artists’ work and photography competitions, to the exploration of local attractions’ histories and culinary traditions.
At this point you can satisfy your hunger by a visit to the café downstairs with tasty hot and cold homemade snacks and sumptuous lunches! With the option for lovely outdoor seating in the summer and comforting heated marquee in winter!
Last but not least, the felted creatures who greeted you from the window on the left as you came in can be found next to the café in the craft shop, with a unique selection of greetings cards, decorations and work by local crafts people.
