Making a splash: Stoke Park paddling pool open for a sizzling summer
Update 1 June 2022
The paddling pool is closed temporarily following reports that the floor is unsafe. We are assessing the surface and will open again as soon as we can.
We have now opened our paddling pool in Stoke Park gardens for the summer. We carried out essential resurfacing of the pool during the closed months to be ready for the summer.
The footpaths around the paddling pool and boating lake, and the entrance nearest the skatepark, can also be used.
Lead Councillor for Environment, Cllr James Steel, said: "It's fantastic that the paddling pool returns for the warmer, summer months. It is a popular, free activity for families in Guildford.
"Thank you for your patience while we installed a new fibreglass surface in the paddling pool. This surface will help the filters work efficiently and save water and the amount of chemicals used.
"The new surface features multicoloured aquatic creatures and the water jets, but will feel firmer than the previous surface. It is still important to take care to avoid slipping in this exciting environment."
Our paddling pool is free to use. Swim nappies are available to buy at the visitor point.
There are lots of things to see and do in Stoke Park. The children's playground has a helter skelter and the much-loved Stoke Park crocodile statue. You'll also find adult and junior swings, multi-play units and a seesaw. We also have a skate park which is free to use.
If you are feeling peckish during your visit, there are two kiosks serving a range of refreshing food, drinks, and ice cream.
Stoke Park is our largest and most popular Green Flag award winning park. The Green Flag award recognises well managed parks and green spaces.
