Guildford's Cleaner Air Day returns to our town

Following the success of last year's inaugural event, Cleaner Air Day was bigger, greener and even more fun this year! This free event for all the family was a celebration of the ways we can all help to improve air quality.
Upper and Lower High Street became pedestrian-only for the day, creating a safe and vibrant space filled with:
- live entertainment, including music, target archery, and circus skills
- free Dr Bike services and cycling demos
- delicious food stalls and local markets
- interactive exhibits and expert talks
- a playzone for children
- e-bike and e-vehicle showcases
- the chance to learn about what you can do to tackle air pollution.
On Cleaner Air Day, we encouraged motorists to choose alternative travel such as:
- walking
- cycling
- or public transport instead of using their car for the day.
Before the event Lead Councillor for Regulatory Services, Cllr Merel Rehorst-Smith said:
"We're delighted to bring Cleaner Air Day back to Guildford in 2025. Last year's event was a great success, and I look forward to its return as we strive to create cleaner, healthier air for everyone.
"This event is a great opportunity for residents to discover practical ways to reduce pollution and protect our environment.
"I encourage everyone to come along, enjoy the activities, and learn more about how we can all contribute to tackling the climate emergency and improving air quality across our borough."
