The free event runs from 10.00am to 4.30pm. Activities include:

  • activities (circus skills, nine metre climbing tower, Punch and Judy) and street play for children
  • live music from local groups

  • Rural Crafts market

How to get here

    by foot - walk, run or dance. It's up to you
  • cycle, scoot or skate. There are plenty of bike racks in and around the town. If you don't have your own bike, hire a Brompton Bike from Guildford Station. We will provide 50 extra bicycle parking spaces until 5pm with:
    • 10 in Upper High Street (outside Pizza Express)
    • 10 in Eastgate Gardens (at junction with Upper High Street)
    • 10 in North Street (at junction with Market Street)
    • 10 in High Street (outside Nationwide)
    • 10 in Tunsgate (outside Bang & Olufsen)
  • travel by bus - further details below
  • travel by train - Guildford has two train stations, both only a short walk from the town centre. Frequent train services operate from Guildford Station to London Waterloo. The average journey time is 35 minutes. There are also direct trains from Reading and Portsmouth
  • town centre car parks will be open if other options are not available

All buses will be re-routed in the town centre to avoid North St, Chertsey St, and Upper High St.

Which roads will be closed?

You will not be able to drive on the roads shown below between 7am and 7.30pm on Sunday 25 September. If your car is on one of these roads and you need to use it during this time, you must move it before the road closes.

If you are a zone D permit holder and these closures affect you, you can park in one of our car parks for free. Free car parking is available from 6pm on Saturday 24 September until 10am to Monday 26 September 2022.

High Street and Upper High Street

The section between Quarry Street and up to the junction with Epsom Road (A246) and London Road (A3100) will be closed in both directions.

North Street

The section between Leapale Road and up to High Street will be closed in both directions.

Chertsey Street

The section between Martyr Road and North Street will be closed in both directions.

Eastgate Gardens

The section between Upper High Street and the Upper High street car park will be closed in both directions. The car park will remain open with access from the north of Eastgate Gardens.

Alexandra Terrace

Access to Harbour Hotel only.

Chapel Street

The whole road will be closed.

Market Street

The whole road will be closed.

Tunsgate

The whole road will be closed.

Ward Street

The whole road will be closed.

Haydon Place

The one-way section between North Street and Martyr Road will be closed.
