Update: water supply issues in the GU1, GU2, GU3, GU4 and GU5 areas has been resolved

The majority of customers' supply should have returned by now. However for those who are still without supply, this will be as a result of air pockets. Read advice from Thames Water about no water or low pressure

If you are still experiencing issues with your water supply this morning you can get free bottled water from a Thames Water bottled water station. For water stations opening times and updates, visit Thames Water website.

If you need support from an engineer to get your water supply back to normal, please call Thames Water on 0800 316 9800.

Festive family trail- explore our festive town centre trail to win cracking prizes

An image of large nutcrackers in shopping centres

This festive season, we're launching an exciting family trail that will see ten impressive Nutcracker statues making the town centre their home. Our troop of colourful Nutcrackers will arrive at mystery locations around Guildford town centre from 7 December to 5 January 2023.

Designed with families in mind, the Nutcracker trail lets you explore the town centre at your own pace. There are plenty of opportunities to take advantage of Guildford's fantastic cafes, restaurants and shops along the way.

Your goal is to follow the trail map, find the Nutcrackers hidden in shops, and businesses, and spell out the festive word. Once completed, post your answer on the trail map in the special competition post box in Tunsgate Quarter. All correct entries will go into a prize draw.

Prizes include:

  • £100, £50 and £25 high street vouchers
  • a pair of tickets to a show at the Electric Theatre
  • pantomime performances at the Yvonne Theatre for a family of four (one adult minimum)
  • two tickets to Cirque at G Live!

Cllr Julia McShane, Leader of the Council, said:

"The Nutcracker trail is another free activity to help bring festive magic to our town centre this year.

"Although we can't reveal where the nutcrackers are hiding, I'd like to thank the businesses who have agreed to host our festive visitors this year. Thanks also to the theatres that have generously donated prizes of tickets. Good luck to all the entrants to the competition."

Maps for the trail can be picked up at Guildford Library, the Tourist Information Centre and Tunsgate Quarter. Or download the map and print it at home. Find it on the Visit Guildford Christmas pages, where you'll also find the full terms and conditions.
