Community litter picking
The Great British Spring Clean has been postponed until September 2020.
Please note, we are not enabling any community litter picking at the present time.
Borrowing litter picking equipment
Community litter picking events are a great way to tackle those areas of litter that you and your neighbours wish to bag up and bin. The events are a good show of teamwork, involve a range of age groups and help bring together your community.
Every volunteer involved will be given a set of equipment including a litter picker, a high visibility vest, rubbish bags, gloves and safety guidance. (Equipment is limited to 25 sets per group in times of high demand.) We can also arrange to collect the bagged rubbish from an agreed location after your event.
All loaned equipment will require collection from our Woking Road Depot. The equipment should be returned promptly following your event.
If you would like to request the loan of equipment for a community event, please complete our online form and we will contact you to confirm equipment availability and further details. We will need notice two weeks in advance of the date of the litter pick.
Adopt your street
If you would like to carry out litter picking in your area on a regular basis, and want to adopt your street, find out more on our our Adopt a street page.
