Cleaner Air Day comes to Guildford next week
The event is fully funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Taking place in the town centre, it's a fun day out for all the family to celebrate and learn ways we can all help to improve air quality. It's free to attend too!
Cleaner Air Day Guildford encourages motorists to choose alternative travel such as walking, cycling or public transport, instead of using their car for the day. By doing this, we can help to reduce air pollution and improve the quality of the air we breathe.
From 11am to 4pm the town centre will be full of exciting stalls and live entertainment.
Free activities to enjoy on the day
At Cleaner Air Day Guildford, you can:
- try out e-bikes
- scale the heights of our climbing wall
- make your own smoothies with our smoothie bike
- see fabulous circus skills up close
- hear from experts at the University of Surrey about how to do more to tackle air pollution
- find out more about alternative transport options
- speak to Action Surrey about how you can make your home more efficient
- get a free bike health check with Dr. Bike
- browse a wide range of market stalls selling sustainable goods
Lead Councillor for Regulatory Services, Cllr Merel Rehorst-Smith said:
"Cleaner Air Day promises to be a great event for our town, with fun and informative stalls that all the family can enjoy.
"We want everyone in Guildford to be part of our transformation into a cleaner borough. Events such as this play a big role in empowering people, giving them the tools and knowledge to help make our air safer for all.
"I hope as many people as possible come along, take part in the activities on offer and learn more about what they can do to tackle the climate crisis."

"We're delighted to be offering this free event that brings people into the town. Cleaner Air Day is an important event to help our community understand how we can all help to make Guildford greener.
