Take part in a landmark Government consultation on proposals to replace Surrey's current councils with up to three larger authorities. We support a three unitary approach - Find out more and read our consultation question guide.

Join us for a special online engagement session hosted by the Leaders of Guildford and Waverley Borough Councils on Thursday 3 July from 7pm to 8pm via Microsoft Teams. We'll explain what Local Government Reorganisation is, outline the different options being considered, and show you how to get involved. Sign up for the session (opens new window).

The Briars Playground (Dan's Meadow) in Ash GU12

The Briars playground is open. Some areas of landscaping remain closed for the grass to establish. Please do not enter these areas.

The playground includes equipment for a range of ages and includes slides, climbing opportunities, swings including a large rope swing, a hammock and spinning play equipment.  Please note there is currently no hard surfaced footpath from roads to the playground.

We have a range of  play equipment in our playgrounds across the borough. These include:

  • zip lines
  • sand pits
  • multi units
  • roundabouts
  • play equipment for toddlers

Many of our playgrounds are disability friendly and many are accessible for wheelchairs. Please contact parks@guildford.gov.uk if you require more information.

When using playgrounds remember:

  • most playgrounds are intended for use by those between 4 and 8 only (check local signage)
  • assistance dogs only in the playground
  • secure bicycles to the outside of the playground
  • no alcohol in playgrounds
  • no high heeled shoes on safety surface

We inspect playgrounds regularly to ensure they are clean and safe to use.
