Responsible Financial Officer notice that council unable to commence public inspection of accounts on 1st July 2026
The Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015
Under section 15 of The Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015, as amended by The Accounts and Audit (Amendment) Regulations 2024, the Council is required to commence the period for the exercise of public rights by 1st July thereby including the first 10 working days of July.
The Council is thereby required to publish the unaudited accounts by 30 June at the latest.
Due to the need to complete final management oversight and quality assurance procedures prior to publication, the unaudited 2025/26 Statement of Accounts has not been finalised by the statutory deadline. Consequently, the period for the exercise of public rights cannot yet commence.
The Council will give notice as soon as possible as to when the accounts of Guildford Borough Council, in respect of the financial year ended 31 March 2026, will be available for public inspection.
