You can pay your Council tax online
Council Tax is payable in accordance with the statutory instalment scheme. It is payable in 10 instalments due on or before the 2nd of each month from April through to January. If you choose to pay your Council Tax half yearly, instalments are due on or before 2nd April and 2nd September. If you decide to pay annually, the full sum is due on the 2nd April. You can now request to pay your Council Tax over twelve months, instead of ten. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org

How to pay your council tax
The Council's preferred methods of payment are Direct Debit and debit card.
There are a number of ways you can pay your council tax:
The easiest, most efficient way to pay - let the Council do all the work for you. Payment is requested from your bank on the 2nd of the month, or the nearest working day if the 2nd falls on a weekend or Bank Holiday.To help keep costs (and your council tax) low and avoid the extra expense of setting up new payment arrangements at the beginning of the next financial year, it is important that your current instruction is not cancelled when the final instalment has been collected each year. You can download the Direct Debit mandate then print and return it to the Council using the address below.
Pay online using your debit/credit card. An additional fee is charged for all credit card payments. There is no fee for debit card payments.

In post offices
You will need to complete a Transcash payment slip and quote the Credit Account number 443 9805 along with your council tax account number. Please note that the post office will charge you an additional fee for each transaction.

HSBC bank customers
If you are an HSBC bank customer you can transfer payment from your bank account direct into the Council's bank account. Visit your branch and transfer to our bank account number 218 506 52. Please avoid visiting their branches during the busiest time, which is from 11am to 2pm.
