Local government in Surrey is changing, from 1 April 2027, Guildford Borough Council and Surrey County Council will be replaced by a new unitary authority called West Surrey Council.

Domestic Abuse

What is domestic abuse? 

Domestic abuse can be an incident or pattern of incidents. The behaviour can be:

  • controlling
  • coercive
  • threatening
  • degrading
  • linked to sexual violence

It is rarely a one-off event, but tends to escalate in frequency and severity over time.

Where can I get help?

If you're in immediate danger, call the Police on 999

If you are being:

  • frightened
  • hurt or abused by a partner
  • hurt or abused by a family member or know someone who is
