Street begging

To stop people having to beg we have range of services available to them.

People seen begging in the town centre may not be homeless or live in Guildford.

People beg for different reasons. Sometimes it is because of alcohol and substance addictions. Giving them money may encourage this. If you would like to help, you could donate to charity.

Local charities and housing associations give support to people who need it.

Report it

Begging is a crime that the police handle.

You can report begging to the police online or by calling 101 (for reporting non-emergency matters).
