Delivering on our promises to our communities
The Delivery Plan Progress Report looks back at last year's ambitions and showcases the positive changes we've delivered for residents across our borough.
The scale of delivery within only twelve months underscores our dedication to driving improvement.
From supporting households facing homelessness and completing thousands of home repairs, to restoring green spaces like Tyting Farm, keeping streets clean and opening the Lido all year round, the report highlights practical improvements that make a real difference to daily life.
15,646 Community meals have been delivered to those who need them most, leisure facilities have welcomed close to one million visits and funding has continued to support local voluntary groups.
The report also highlights progress on financial sustainability, governance improvements and preparations for Local Government Reorganisation.
Leader of the Council, Cllr Julia McShane, said:
"This year's progress is great news for Guildford and for all our residents. Our services are reliable, our communities are better supported, and the places you care about are being protected and improved.
"That's what our Delivery Plan for 2025/26 set out to do, and almost a year on, I'm proud to say we've delivered on the commitments we made, just as we said we would.
"For me, what matters most is what that looks like in everyday life - cleaner streets, green spaces looked after, support when you need it, and services you can depend on.
"We've faced challenges along the way, and have been open and transparent about how we are dealing with them. But we've stayed focused on what's important to you and for our communities.
"As we move into our new Delivery Plan for 2026/27, we'll keep the same focus - delivering high-quality, reliable services, protecting what makes Guildford special, and making sure every resident has the opportunity to thrive.
"We'll continue to be open about our progress, clear about our priorities, and focused on the things that matter most to you."
The new Delivery Plan 2026/27 builds on this momentum and will continue to prioritise sustainability, inclusion, prosperity, decent and affordable homes, and strong governance.
