Have your say on our plans to replace Foxenden Quarry play area

Update: 14 December 2021

Thank you to everyone who took the time to respond to our consultation on Foxenden Quarry play area. We appreciated all your feedback. It has resulted in a fantastic design that included all the original features plus a zip wire.

We are disappointed that due to an increase in material costs we are unable to proceed with the new play area.

Our budget does not cover the estimated cost. We are very sorry that we will not be able to refurbish the play area when we had hoped. We will do all we can to seek extra funding so we can install what will be one of Guildford's best playgrounds.

We have employed Landscape Architects Davis White to create an inspiring play area that brings the quarry setting to life.  We have also included some artwork that supports the theme.

The online consultation has closed and is being reviewed.

We will publish the outcomes and finalise the design. We'll update progress as soon as possible.

The existing slide on the mound will remain.  Other existing play equipment is likely to be recycled at other sites, where in suitable condition.  The horse rocker is a classic and rare item.  We may keep this within the scheme, if this is popular.
