Review of Gambling Act 2005 Statement of Principles - Public Consultation

We are consulting on the update of the Council's Gambling Act 2005 Statement of Principles 2025-28 and would like your feedback.

The Gambling Act 2005 requires the Council as licensing authority to prepare and publish a Statement of Principles every three years. The existing Statement of Principles was published in January 2022 and is due for review by January 2025.

We want to consult with our residents, workers and visitors to the borough, local businesses, associated trade bodies, responsible authorities and other stakeholders, to hear your views on the draft statement. (PDF, 2 MB)

There are no changes in the draft to the current statement.

Any comments can be submitted by email to: regulatoryservices@guildford.gov.uk or in writing to:

Guildford Borough Council

The consultation runs from 11 November for 4 weeks when we will consider all the responses and amend the draft as appropriate. The Council's Licensing Committee will review the updated policy on 15 January 2025 and a summary of responses will be available on our website.
