Review of Gambling Act 2005 Statement of Principles - Public Consultation

We consulted on the update of the Council's Gambling Act 2005 Statement of Principles 2025-28.

The Gambling Act 2005 requires the Council as licensing authority to prepare and publish a Statement of Principles every three years. The existing Statement of Principles was published in January 2022 and was due for review by January 2025.

The consultation ran from 11 November for 4 weeks and then we considered all the responses and amended the draft as appropriate. The Council's Licensing Committee reviewed the updated policy on 15 January 2025 and a summary of responses is available on our website.
