North Street market is a traditional historic market which has been trading many years.
There are a variety of stalls selling fresh fruit and vegetables, eggs, fresh fish, breads and cakes, French patisseries and cheeses.
You can also buy delicious hot takeaway street food; beautiful flowers, and there is a wide selection of watches and jewellery.
The market is located just a short walk from Guildford train station.
If you're travelling by car it is very close to Leapale Road and Castle multi-storey car parks.
Temporary Relocation
Parts of North Street Market will be moving over the coming months to a temporary location while improvement works take place on North Street. The move will allow the market to continue trading as usual, with the same days, times and traders, before returning to North Street once the works are complete.
Between January and May 2027, more temporary location changes will be made.

No. The market will continue to run on Fridays and Saturdays from 8.30am to 5pm, just as it does now.

Farmers' market
Guildford Farmers' market is on the first Tuesday of the month (except January) in the High Street, Guildford. It runs from 10am to 3pm.

We are a National Farmers' Retail and Markets Association (FARMA) accredited market. We follow quite strict guidelines on the products that can be sold. We favour locally sourced and produced ingredients. We aim to offer our customers choice. You can buy a variety of delicious high quality produce.

The market producers are listed below. Not all attend every month. Stalls vary at each market as some produce is seasonal.
As well as the regular North Street market and the monthly Farmers' market, there are a number of specialist markets in the town centre for shoppers to enjoy.

Arts and Makers market

If you are a market trader you may want to trade in Guildford. We have a variety of markets that might appeal to you and your business.
Farmers' market
It runs on the first Tuesday of the month (except January) in the Guildford High Street from 10.30am to 3.30pm.
The producer must be based within a 50-mile radius of Guildford. Sometimes we will take a producer outside the catchment. This is only if it's a product that cannot be sourced within the radius
Priority is given to primary producers including farmers, fishermen, growers, cheese-makers and brewers, bakers, jam makers, and some craft makers must use a certain amount of ingredients from the local area.
Where possible we prefer our products sold at the market to be:
reared
grown
caught
brewed
pickled
baked
smoked or processed by the stall holder

North Street market
It runs every Friday and Saturday from 8.30am to 5pm in North Street. This market is our regular one and turnover of traders is small.
the rental charge for a pitch is £15 per metre frontage per day
this includes rubbish clearance, electricity, and water supply
it does not include a canopy or stall, so you need to bring your own
Traders must provide proof of their right to work in the UK.
We are currently not accepting applications for North Street market pitches. This is due to the redevelopment of North Street.
