Our Westborough and Park Barn Better Homes Programme
Help shape the future of Westborough and Park Barn
We're working with the Westborough and Park Barn community to explore how we can provide high-quality homes and a thriving neighbourhood, both now and into the future.
Through the Westborough and Park Barn Better Homes Programme, we'll explore long-term improvements to the area. These may include:
- improving existing Council-owned homes
- building new homes or replacing some existing properties
- improving shared spaces and public areas
We believe residents should live in a home and community they can be proud of. Some Council-owned homes in the area face challenges related to their structural condition, energy efficiency and accessibility, and some homes are currently unable to be occupied. The Better Homes Programme gives us a chance to better understand these issues and explore how homes, streets, public spaces and the wider neighbourhood could improve in the future.
No decisions have been made at this stage. We are starting a conversation with local people to better understand what matters most to residents before any future options are explored. Your experiences, priorities and ideas will help shape what happens next.
Complete our survey
We want to hear from as many people as possible.
The survey is the first stage of the Better Homes Programme and will help us understand:
- what people value most about Westborough and Park Barn
- what challenges people face in their homes and neighbourhood
- how local spaces and facilities are used
- what should be prioritised as the programme develops
- what makes the area special or distinctive.

Join our Inclusive Community Panel
We're inviting up to 15 local residents to join our Inclusive Community Panel and help shape the future of the Better Homes Programme.
We want the panel to reflect the diversity of the Westborough and Park Barn community and welcome people with a range of backgrounds and experiences. Your local knowledge will help us understand what is important to the community and make sure local voices are heard.
We are looking for people of different ages, from 14 upwards, and particularly welcome applications from young people and older residents. Up to five places on the panel will be for young people aged 14 to 20.
Panel members will take part in four workshops, including discussions and creative activities. Each workshop will last two hours and take place in the evening at The Hive.
To thank people for their time and contribution, panel members will receive £30 for each two-hour workshop they attend.
If you are interested in joining the Inclusive Community Panel, please fill out our form.
Stay involved
The survey and pop-up event are the start of the conversation. There will be more chances to share your views as the programme develops. We'll keep residents updated and let you know how you can get involved.
