We've taken inspiration from Mrs Childe, who lived at Guildford House over 350 years ago.

We're sure she made medicines and beauty products using plants from the garden.

Take a square of muslin or any thin cotton material.

Place a spoonful of one of the following highly scented flowers in the square. Choose from:

  • lavender to help you sleep
  • roses to uplift your spirits
  • chamomile for anxiety

Add a spoonful of oats to clean your skin.

Pull up the corners of the square and tie with a ribbon.

Run under warm water and enjoy your bath.

Check before using any of the ingredients if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking any medicines, have any health issues, allergies or skin complaints.
