Sites of Nature Conservation Importance Surveys
Sites of Nature Conservation Importance (SNCIs) are locally designated areas. They're chosen for their importance to wildlife. SNCI designation is additional to national designations such as:
- Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI)
- Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB)
SNCI designation does not result in statutory protection. However, it helps us understand the extent of natural plant and animal life in Guildford.
SNCI designations are continuously reviewed by the Surrey Wildlife Trust on our behalf.
