Housing Strategy 2015-20

The  icon Guildford Borough Housing Strategy 2015-20, [4.5MB]  sets out our ambitions for housing. After carrying out a consultation in 2014 with Guildford residents and stakeholders, the new Strategy was adopted in February 2015.

While the Local Plan deals with spatial development for the borough up to 2031, including infrastructure, the Housing Strategy 2015-20 concentrates on affordable housing and the use and quality of existing homes.

Responses to comments received during the consultation can be read in our  icon Housing Strategy 2015-20 Consultation Responses Summary. [784.73KB]

Rural housing

As part of our Housing Strategy and Rural Economic Strategy, we are supporting the delivery of affordable housing on rural exception sites. Rural exception sites are small plots of agricultural land that can be used for housing.

Our goal is to provide rural affordable housing for the local community to help families stay together and prevent the loss of local services.
