Housing Benefit and Money Officer
Our Welfare Benefit and Money Officer offers free, confidential support, in person or over the phone, to council tenants. They can help you maximize your income and manage financial challenges.
They can support you in several ways including:
- checking that you're receiving the correct benefits and income support
- offering practical advice on budgeting and managing your money effectively
- providing clear guidance on eligibility and entitlements
- helping to challenge benefit decisions you believe may be incorrect
- identifying and assisting with grant applications or other financial support options
The service aims to improve financial wellbeing, reduce hardship and ensure you receive the support you need. We work on a referral basis from external partners and when our teams come into contact where there is a concern for the resident's welfare.
