Climate Change, Sustainable Design, Construction and Energy SPD

This supplementary planning document (SPD) gives guidance for policies in the Local Plan. The policies it covers deal with climate change, sustainable design and construction, and low carbon energy.

We have produced a draft Climate Change, Sustainable Design, Construction and Energy SPD. The SPD gives detailed guidance for policies in the Local Plan: Strategy and Sites 2015-2034 that cover:

  • climate change
  • sustainable design and construction
  • low and zero carbon energy.

The SPD:

  • gives an overview of the relevant policies
  • sets out the information you should submit if applying for planning permission
  • includes a questionnaire for non-major developments
  • gives guidance on sustainable design and construction best practice.

The SPD was adopted by the Council's Executive at the Executive meeting on 22 September 2020.
