The Lovelace Neighbourhood Plan has been examined. We have decided to make the changes that the examiner has recommended.
The next step is to put the plan to a referendum of voters in Lovelace ward.

The government has brought in restrictions on polls because of Covid-19. This means we cannot run any neighbourhood planning referendums until May 2021. We will announce the referendum date in due course.
Lovelace Neighbourhood Area
We designated the Lovelace Neighbourhood Area on 2 July 2015 following an application from Ripley Parish Council and a six week consultation.
The Lovelace Neighbourhood Area follows the boundary of Lovelace ward. No other neighbourhood area may now be designated within this area.
Neighbourhood planning in Lovelace is led by Ripley and Ockham Parish Councils. Wisley Parish does not currently have a parish council but if one is put in place it will also be eligible to lead on neighbourhood planning. The parish councils have set up a neighbourhood planning group to coordinate neighbourhood planning activities across the Lovelace area.
Anyone who lives, works or has a business within the neighbourhood area is entitled to get involved and help produce a neighbourhood plan or a neighbourhood development order for the neighbourhood area.
Neighbourhood planning is a voluntary activity and there is no requirement for residents or businesses to be involved. Residents in the Lovelace Neighbourhood Area who are usually eligible to vote there will be asked to approve any neighbourhood planning measures through a referendum, so residents who are not involved in the planning process will still be able to have a say over the planning policies or development orders that are brought into force.

Lovelace Neighbourhood Plan Consultation and Examination
Ripley and Ockham Parish Councils submitted the Lovelace Neighbourhood Plan to us. We consulted on it from 4 November to 16 December 2019 (the regulation 16 publicity stage).
The Lovelace Neighbourhood Plan was examined between February and May 2020. The examiner has produced the examination report and we have decided to accept the examiner's recommendations.
We will change the plan as set out in the report. The next step is to hold a referendum of residents in Lovelace ward who are eligible to vote in local elections.
Due to the Coronavirus Act 2020, local polls (including referendums) will not be held until 6 May 2021. We are currently looking for a date for the referendum.
In the meantime, the Lovelace Neighbourhood Plan, as modified, will carry significant weight in relevant planning decisions (in line with national guidance).
- At present, due to Covid-19 restrictions, the decision statement is only available to view online. It will be made available to view at our offices if the situation changes. If you are unable to view the document online, please contact the planning policy team at email@example.com or by telephone on 01483 444471.
