Help for landlords

Our help for landlords includes:

• help with the standards for electrical inspection and testing
• encouraging membership of the Guildford Lettings Accreditation Scheme
• investigating complaints relating to property conditions
• applying standards in Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs)
• working to bring long term empty properties back into use

For private sector housing, our priorities are to:

• reduce disrepair in private homes
• reduce the number of non-decent homes
• ensure all Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO) meet the right standards
• reduce the number of empty properties
• help landlords to provide good standards of accommodation, which will be properly managed, at affordable rents
• improve energy efficiency in accommodation
